New Home Construction in Lethbridge sees decline for first 5 months of 2016

So far in 2016, ground has broken on 266 homes in Lethbridge. That’s down from 316 compared to the first five months last year.

Lethbridge has seen a slight drop in new home construction numbers so far this year, mainly due to a decline in multi-family units. Ground has broken on 266 homes in the city, down from 316 compared to the first five months of last year. With multi-family construction seeing a small decline, construction of single detached homes in Lethbridge is up this year over last. Last month, officials with the local branch of the Canadian Home Builders Association said this drop is not really a big surprise, noting new construction in the city is likely going to remain flat for the rest of 2016.
